(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Grand Shia cleric attending Muslim Ulima Conference in Senegal calls scholars and thinkers to be heir to the Prophets and demands their collaboration for realization of proximity in society.
Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, head of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought said highlighted the role of Muslim elites and scholars in Muslim unity saying proximity is not restricted to ethical and religious issues.
"Proximity comprises different aspects of civilization and intellectual hence it is better that the elites and thinkers cooperate for realization of that so that it encompasses the public either." said the cleric.
He elaborated on the role of the elites in the process of proximity and said that Islamic organizations can play a more important role in realization of proximity by holding conferences, rejecting the symbols of sedition and developing the culture of religious tolerance.
Senior cleric also counted some principles of proximity elites as banning any sacrilege of religious sanctities, freedom of religions, respectful reaction in interfaith dialogues and also avoiding excommunication.
International Conference of Muslim Umima (scholars) has been held in Senegal with the aim of exchanging the ideas of Muslim scholars about unity of Muslim community and the ways to improve the status of African governments.
This conference is attended by the luminaries and religious figures from ۸۴ countries.
Iranian delegation to the International Conference of Muslim Umila meets with some of the participants in the conference to discuss the expansion of bilateral cooperation on the issue of proximity between Islamic denominations.
